Priti Patel’s new plan for immigration detailed how the Government intends to deal with people entering the UK “illegally”. The Home Secretary hit back at the “broken system” as she told MPs: “He accuses me and the Government or lacking compassion, he accuses me of taking an inhumane approach. I would suggest that he should not resort to personal attacks of that nature.
“As someone, my own family in particular, who knows what fleeing persecution is like and sought refuge in the UK and has successfully like millions of others rebuilt their lives.
“I do know think that lack of substance is not surprising because there are no plans from the party opposite to fix the broken system.
“The Labour Party’s response to my plan was to look at my plan.
“I do suggest that as long as they are devoid of a plan of substance, they themselves are defending a broken system that is encouraging illegal migration and supporting criminality.”
