During the press briefing, Sky News’ Ed Conway asked Rishi Sunak a question with the use of a tax burden chart on-screen in the Sky studio. Mr Conway asked the Chancellor whether he feared being known as the Chancellor with the highest tax burden since the 1960s.
Mr Peston tweeted: @EdConwaySky’s use of the tax burden chart in his question to @RishiSunak was a stroke of total geek genius. I am in awe.
“The chancellor – who we all thought had a touch of the geek about him – did not look as impressed as perhaps he should have done,”
