Mr Johnson is said to be “testing the water” over moving seats after polls suggest he is at risk of losing his Uxbridge seat. One source said: “They’re prepared to dangle honours in front of ultra-loyalists and those who might be thinking about standing down anyway.” Earlier this week Tory peer Lord Cruddas, who is spearheading a campaign to put Mr Johnson on the Ballot claimed the Prime Minister “wants to fight the next general election leaders” and “does not want to resign”.

PM removed ‘via a coup’, says Nadine Dorries
Nadine Dorries said Boris Johnson was removed “via a coup” after being asked out the Prime Ministers resignation.
Speaking from the Commonwealth Games, which kicks off today, the Culture Secretary said was “very disappointed” and the Tory party is making a “huge mistake”.
Ms Dorries, who is supporting Liz Truss said the Foreign Secretary is “able to pick up the batton” to “take the country forward”
