Amber Alert issued out of Douglas County for two girls believed to be in danger.

The Douglas County Sheriff and Colorado Bureau of Investigation issued an Amber Alert Wednesday afternoon for two girls who are described as being in danger.

The children, Sophia and Bethany Jones, ages 7 and 8 respectively, were last seen in the north Denver area at about 2:20 p.m., according to the alert.

The children are with their parents, Trisha and Towon Jones, the alert said. The couple “fled” Colorado on Tuesday with three daughters and one was abandoned.

The abandoned girl was found and is safe, the sheriff’s office said.

“Douglas County has reason to believe the suspects may be armed and the children are in danger,” the alert said.

Their vehicles are described as a 2019 black Toyota 4Runner Colorado license plate BVGI94 and a 2014 green Toyota Sienna license CGMO17. Both girls have brown hair and brown eyes.

If seen the public is asked to call 911 or the sheriff’s office at 303-660-7500.
