Aurora police seek suspect who struck two people waiting for bus

Two people waiting for a bus on East Colfax Avenue were struck by a driver who fled the scene, Aurora police said.

The crash happened at about 7:35 p.m. at Colfax Avenue and Moline Street, police said.

“A vehicle struck two people waiting at a bus stop,” police said on Twitter. The driver ran from the scene and officers are looking for him.

One person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Westbound Colfax at Macon Street is shut down by the incident.

Members of the Aurora Fire Rescue said the two victims were “pinned between a vehicle and a bust stop shelter” in the crash. Technical Rescue Team members responded to extricate the pair from the wreckage.
