A black teenager's family believe she was the victim of a racially motivated prank after armed police burst into her dorm room.

Christin Evans, 17, said police kicked down her door after her white roommates allegedly called cops and filed a false report.

Her family has been left shocked after the incident on September 14, when officers burst in at 3am, reports The Sun.

It has also been reported around 10 students accused Christin of threatening to stab others with a pair of scissors.

The family has called for action against the students, after Christin was left traumatised.

In a press conference that took place on Monday, Miss Evans said: "I feel shaken."

"I can’t sleep at night. It has made me paranoid. I was looking forward to making friends and having a good time on the cheer team," she added.

Authorities received reports from students at Stephen F. Austin University stating Evans had threatened to stab them, which turned out to be fake, say police.

Attorney Randall Kallinen said: “This could have been a Breonna Taylor circumstance.

“They had falsely accused Christin of having scissors and trying to stab people.”

An investigation has been launched, SFA Chief of Police John Fields said: "A racially diverse group of students were involved in an incident involving a false report. The students will be held accountable for this at every possible level."

Last week SFA President Scott Gordon released a statement on Twitter: "Each perpetrator will be dealt with appropriately.

He added his “heart goes out” to the “young lady who was an innocent victim.”

“We will do all we can to support her and her family through this heinous ordeal."

Christin's mum, LaShondra Evans, who was fuming at the incident said: "I want [the people responsible] to have consequences. They played with her life..

"If she would have had something in her bed or if they would've [seen] her phone flash, it's shiny on the back, and they had reported she had a knife … they could've shot her."
