Boris Johnson launches No10 TikTok – and gets trolled by Gen Z for party tips

Boris Johnson has launched a Number 10 Downing Street TikTok in bids to give the government's "behind-the-scenes insights" to Gen Z — but it's projecting to backfire.

The Prime Minister made his debut on the popular video-sharing platform on Tuesday as he asked people to "tune in to Number 10 TikTok" for content.

The account quickly amassed 120,000 followers since it was launched 19 hours ago.

"Hi folks, this is Boris Johnson here launching the Number 10 TikTok site and you won't necessarily catch me dancing on this site, but we will have all sorts of stuff about what we're doing to deliver on our priorities, deliver for you on our agenda of uniting and levelling up our country," Mr Johnson said in a selfie video.

"And you'll get all sorts of messages and content that you might not get if you're looking at Instagram, or Snapchat, or Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and all other stuff.

"This is intended to be a place where we can put out messages and behind-the-scenes insights into what we're getting done, so tune in to Number 10 TikTok."

The video was quickly flooded with troll comments criticising on his hairstyle and asking for his "party planning tips".

One said: "Please do a TikTok on your hair routine."

A second commented: "Can we get a party planning guide queen?"

"You say we're getting behind the scenes content, will that include the 2020 parties perhaps?" a third asked.

Others were left infuriated as they demanded Prime Minister to tackle on the cost of living crisis.
