A nine-year-old boy suffered life-changing injuries after allegedly being attacked on a walk with his brother – with a man now charged with attempted murder.
The victim was rushed to hospital on Saturday, May 8, after police officers were called to Peveril Road in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
He suffered multiple injuries to his face and head, Cambridgeshire Police said.
The child was initially taken to Peterborough City Hospital with life-changing injuries.
He was later transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, where he remains in a stable condition.
Faisal Khan, 24, of Almond Road, Dogsthorpe, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife in a public place, police said.
He was arrested at his home on Saturday night, initially on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.
Khan has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Peterborough magistrates on Monday.
