Tour operator, Yaroslav Yemelianenko, said the fire had reached the abandoned city of Pripyat. He added it was just 2km (1.24 miles) away from the nuclear power plant and the Pidlisny radioactive waste disposal site, the Guardian has reported. He wrote in a Facebook post: “The situation is critical. The zone is burning.”
