Denver weather: Warmer temperatures return for Christmas

Outside is tolerable once again.

After two days of bone-chilling, historic temperatures and ungodly windchills, weather has returned to normal throughout Colorado.

Highs in Denver are expected to hit a balmy 48 degrees on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Christmas Day’s forecast is also looking good, with high temperatures expected in the low 50s.

Highs on Wednesday and Thursday didn’t even reach 0 in metro Denver, with windchills in some places plummeting to negative 54.

The cold front shuttered interstate highways, canceled hundreds of flights and led the city scrambling to find shelter for those living on the streets.
