Desperate hunt for Brit girl, 14, missing in Majorca as anguished mum speaks out

The ex-pat mum of a British teenager who has gone missing in Majorca has spoken about the "terrible time" her family is going through.

Taya O’Loughlin, 14, was last seen outside Ramon Llull secondary school in Palma on Tuesday at 8am.

Her mum Danielle Kennedy reported her missing at 3pm the same day, and shortly afterwards she learnt that a Spanish pal of the teen had also disappeared at the same time.

Speaking to The Sun, she said: "I have no idea where she is and this is just not like her – she has gone missing. I really have no idea where she might be and this is a terrible time.

"I have no idea what is going on and I’m just hoping the police here will be able to help."

She added that Taya had "never" done anything like that before and that this wasn't "normal" behaviour for her.

Concern for both of the girls' welfare has prompted a huge police response, who are currently scouring the holiday island for them.

A specialist police unit has been put in charge of the case, according to the local newspaper Diario de Mallorca.

The pal, who Danielle and local media can not identify for legal reasons, is vulnerable and a resident at a local children's home.

She explained: "I know who the Spanish girl is but I can’t give any information. She’s in child care and it’s down to social services to do their own thing for her – all I know is that she’s gone as well.

"I don’t know this girl or how close Taya was to her but it’s believed they’re together somewhere else on the island."

Taya was wearing black trousers, white and black trainers and a grey top and carrying a black rucksack with flowers on it when she was last seen.

She is described as being around 5ft8in tall and weighing 66kg.
