In an astonishing accident, a dog shot a man in the leg after his paw got stuck on the trigger of a pistol.
The man was shot after the dog accidentally set off his gun as he bent down to pick up the pup.
The pistol had been tucked into the unidentified man's waistband when the dog's paw got caught on the trigger.
He was shot in the thigh after the weapon was fired, though the injury is not life-threatening.
According to officials, the man drove himself to the hospital.
Local Plano police officer David Tilley spoke to Dallas Morning News about the incident, he said: "Fortunately, it was just a through and through shot — it didn’t hit a main artery or anything.
"He took himself to the hospital and he’s fine."
Plano Police released a warning for those carrying firearms to make sure the holster is safe.
Cops said: "If you have a License to Carry, we ask for your safety and the safety of others, be responsible."
Last month a three-year-old boy tragically died after accidentally shooting himself in the chest during his birthday celebrations.
The toddler was killed in Porter, Texas, after discovering a weapon belonging to a family member and accidentally discharging it on himself.
Tragedy unfolded while the other family members were playing a game of cards when they heard the sound of a gunshot and then discovered the horrifying scene.
Reports have suggested the gun had fallen from the pocket of one of the family members – with the toddler discovering before the accident.
The unnamed boy was rushed to a nearby fire station as the family made a dash for the closest source of help – but he sadly died of his wound when they reached the building.
