US President Donald Trump has been dramatically pulled out of a press conference following reports of a shooting outside the White House.
Trump is seen addressing reporters when a Secret Service agent is seen whispering in his ear.
The billionaire quickly understands the instruction and walks away.
Journalist Chad Silber tweeted: "President Trump returned to the briefing room minutes later saying Secret Service shot someone outside the White House."
Jeff Mason, a White House correspondent, said: "After shooting outside the White House, Donald Trump returned to the briefing room.
"The shooting took place near the fence on the edge of the White House complex.
"The suspect who was shot by law enforcement was en route to the hospital, the president said."
Trump later told reports the situation seemed "very under control".
He said: "There was a shooting outside of the White House and it seems to be very well under control," he said.
"I would like to thank the Secret Service for doing their always quick and very effective work.

Trump said he had been escorted to the Oval Office after the agent had whispered in his ear.
He then told reporters: "I'm sorry for the disturbance before, things happen."
