The former White House top aide branded Joe Biden “an albatross around the neck of the Democrats” as he forecast former President Donald Trump to declare his 2024 candidacy in the next two months. President Trump gave another rally at Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines earlier this week, a move political commentators across the US suggested is part of his wider strategy for a third attempt at the White House.
Mr Gorka told GB News: “I’m convinced the fact that he’s going to declare his candidacy for the White House imminently.
“And if he keeps filling stadia the way he’s filling right now, I think, very, very rapidly, Joe Biden is going to be deemed a liability, an albatross around the neck of the Democrats that they have to get rid of.”
He added: “And Kamala will be the appointed successor, so yeah, give it a couple of months.”
Donald Trump teased another run while holding a large rally on Saturday night in Iowa State.
GB News host Mark Dolan then asked Sebastian Gorka: “But what do you think the timeline might be for this?
“I mean do you see Kamala Harris entering the White House within the year?”
The former DoD Presidential Appointee replied: “Yeah, I think, within the calendar year and I think it depends on the effect of the border if there is another terrorist attack we know.
“ISIS, Al Qaeda are streaming back to Afghanistan.
“We have an open southern border.”
He went on: “Will they be reconstituting themselves in the United States if there’s a terrorist attack? Absolutely.
“And of course that there’s the exogenous aspect I mean, Donald Trump my old boss, President Trump just had an amazing rally last night.
“I saw him in Trump Tower not too long ago.”
While House press secretary Jen Psaki believed at least part of the blame on Biden’s plummeting approval ratings on the pandemic and the 20 percent of unvaccinated Americans.
MS Psaki replied: ‘Well, look, I would say that this is a really tough time in our country.
“We’re still battling COVID and a lot of people thought we’d be through it – including us.
“Because of the rise of the Delta variant, because of the fact that even though it was a vaccine that was approved under a Republican administration, even though we now have full FDA approval and even though it’s widely available across the country we still have a quarter of the country – less than that, 20 percent of the country – who’ve decided not to get vaccinated.”
