Mr West announced he was running for president on Twitter, and was met with immediate support from the SpaceX founder. Mr West announced he was running for president on July 4. Doubts were quickly raised over the seriousness of the campaign, as Mr West missed key deadlines to run as an independent in multiple states.

Mr Musk was alerted to Kanye’s stance by a Twitter user.

They tweeted the SpaceX founder and said: “Cmon Elon – you’re way too intelligent for this s**t”

Mr Musk replied in a now-deleted tweet, where he seemingly disavows Kanye’s campaign.

He wrote: “We may have more differences of opinion than I anticipated.”


Mr Musk’s tweet followed a Forbes interview with Kanye West, where he made a series of controversial comments.

When asked about vaccines, Mr West said: “It’s so many of our children that are being vaccinated and paralysed (…)

“So when they say the way we’re going to fix COVID is with a vaccine, I’m extremely cautious.

“That’s the mark of the beast.

“They want to put chips inside of us, they want to do all kinds of things, to make it where we can’t cross the gates of heaven.”

In the same interview, Mr West said Mr Musk would head up his space programme if he won the presidency.

He added that Mr Musk had “been talking about” Mr Musk’s presidency “for years”.

Mr Musk was initially supportive of the campaign and praised his friend.

Replying to Kanye’s campaign announcement, Mr Musk said: “You have my full support!”

Mr Musk’s step down from supporting the campaign comes as People reports that Kim Kardashian is concerned about her husband’s mental health.

“In the past, he has suffered both manic and depressive episodes related to his bipolar disorder.

“Right now, he is struggling again.”

SpaceX has also made headlines recently, with bizarre claims that their new computer chip that can cure depression.

His start-up company, Neuralink, was founded in 2016 and was asked whether the chips would be able to treat addiction and other mental health issues.

He said: “For sure.

“This is both great and terrifying.

“Everything we’ve ever sensed or thought has been electrical signals.”
