Kate willing to forgive Sussexes but William struggling with so many things

Kate Middleton is reportedly willing to forgive Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but Prince William is struggling to move on from their reported falling-out, a royal commentator has claimed.

The Sussexes and Cambridges – once referred to as ‘The Fab Four’ – have supposedly been at odds since Harry and Meghan’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey was broadcast earlier this year.

In the chat with the US talk show legend, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex acknowledged that William is on a “different path” to Harry, and suggested that Kate had made Meghan cry in a row over bridesmaids dresses.

Now, with almost a year having passed and with Kate’s 40th birthday approaching, royal commentator Neil Sean has suggested that William and his wife face a dilemma over whether to invite the Sussexes to any planned celebrations.

In fact, the commentator claimed that the current uncertainty around coronavirus restrictions could be a “blessing” for the Cambridges if William were to plan a large gathering.

“A source tells me that Prince William also had the dilemma of what would he do… If you think about it, it would be rude if he didn’t invite Harry and Meghan, but of course they could come up with some kind of excuse," Neil suggested, speaking on his YouTube channel.

“But, if the numbers have to remain slight, because of the ongoing battle with Covid-19 and Omicron, then that really solves the problem, doesn’t it? You can’t have too many people around the table.”

Kate will celebrate her 40th birthday on January 9.

With the number of reported Omicron cases rising dramatically in the UK in recent weeks, the Queen has been forced to cancel her annual Christmas celebrations in Sandringham, and will instead remain in Windsor.

There has been no suggestion that Harry and Meghan will make the trip across the Atlantic for the festive season, despite the fact that the Queen is yet to meet her great-granddaughter Lilibet.

But, with a new year approaching, Neil suggested that Kate might see the fresh start as a good opportunity to reunite with the Sussexes.

“Katherine is one of these forgiving people, wants life to move forward, everybody to get on. And she’s quite willing to forgive and forget some of the things that were said in that now infamous Oprah interview,” Neil continued.

“But, according to a very good source, Prince William is struggling with so many things. He doesn’t seemingly want to forgive and forget.

“So moving forward, where that leaves Katherine’s spectacular 40th birthday remains to be seen. It could be a quiet affair now over two days with two separate parties.”

Alternatively, Neil suggested the celebrations could be scaled back further to include “very close friends” before the Cambridges move on to celebrate with Kate’s extended family.

This comes as another royal author Stewart Pierce rubbished rumours of a rift between the royals and their now non-royal family, claiming that Harry and William “speak virtually every day.”

Stewart also suggested that the couples might mark Kate’s birthday with a secret trip to stay with Harry and Meghan in LA.
