Lilibet snap with Queen will cause Jubilee plans to ‘go to pieces’, expert says

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be allowed to publish a picture of the Queen meeting Lilibet because of fears it might overshadow the monarch’s plans, a royal photographer has claimed.

As the country gears up to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend, Meghan and Harry are preparing to bring their children Archie and Lilibet over to meet the monarch.

The Queen was present at Archie’s royal christening in July 2019, but is yet to meet her great-granddaughter.

However, fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the family member’s first meeting have been warned against expecting a slew of pictures to be released by one royal expert, with the focus likely to be on other events at the Jubilee celebrations.

After penning a letter urging the Sussexes not to steal the spotlight from the monarch, royal photographer Arthur Edwards has doubled down on his stance.

“If they publish a picture when the Queen meets Lilibet, that will wipe everything else out,” he told Piers Morgan Uncensored.

“That picture will just scream in and everything the Queen’s trying to achieve, doing her very best to make appearances, it will just go to pieces.

“I just hope she doesn’t turn up with a photographer to do that and put it out; and I don’t think the Queen will allow it anyway.”

Not everyone on the panel agreed, however.

Katie Nicholl, royal editor of Vanity Fair observed: “The Queen has the most remarkable capacity for forgiveness and I think that’s what you’re going to see with the Sussexes.”

The monarch has already taken the decision to exclude Harry and Meghan from making an appearance on the royal balcony during tomorrow’s (June 2) Trooping the Colour parade, after Buckingham Palace announced that only working royals will be present.

This comes as uncovered footage from the showpiece event in 2019 appeared to show Harry instructing his wife to turn around while on the royal balcony, possibly to warn her that the National Anthem was about to begin.

Daily Star has contacted representatives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for comment.
