A 21-year-old man, who was shot dead in a Denver apartment while playing a video game, has been identified.
Joryn Dean was killed Thursday in the 2800 block of Monroe Street and was pronounced dead at Denver Health Medical Center, according to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.
Dean died of a gunshot wound and the manner of his death is a homicide, the coroner’s office said.
Yolanda Hilliard, 49, was arrested shortly after the shooting on suspicion of first-degree murder and five counts of attempted murder for allegedly firing several gunshots into a residence occupied by six people, according to an arrest warrant.
Witnesses told police they were playing a video game in a bedroom when a woman pushed back the curtain of an open window and began mumbling incoherently. She left when asked but a returned a few minutes later and began firing a gun through the window, which had been closed.
