A man who lured multiple women into his RV, offering a warm spot or a place to sleep, has been found guilty of sex crimes by a Jefferson County jury.
Darrell Eugene Wall, 50, was found guilty on Oct. 29 after a four-day trial, according to a district attorney’s office news release.
Wall assaulted five woman in separate attacks between June 2018 and November 2019, the DA’s office said. The jury found him guilty on two counts of sexual assault, and one count of unlawful sexual contact with force, both felony charges. He was also found guilty of two counts of unlawful sexual contact, a misdemeanor.
In October of 2019, Lakewood Police were contacted by a woman who reported that Wall sexually assaulted her, the release said. An investigation found four additional victims.
The five victims, vulnerable women who were experiencing homelessness, mental health issues, or drug and alcohol addiction, were acquainted with Wall having met him along the West Colfax corridor, according to the release.
“Wall preyed on the vulnerability of these women who were struggling to get by,” said
DA Pete Weir, in the release. “They showed great courage as they each took the stand and testified about what had happened to them, allowing us to hold Mr. Wall accountable and stop these assaults on women in the future.”
Wall is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 7.
