Masked shoppers brawl at the till during coronavirus lockdown grocery trip

Shocking photos show customers engaged in a bloody brawl at a popular Hull shop during the coronavirus lockdown.

One man was left covered in blood and the other ended up in the back of a police car.

Pictures taken at The Range, a home retail chain, on Clough Road show a man wearing a face mask squaring up to another shopper in the doorway of the shop on Sunday afternoon.

There are reports a number of people, including shop employees and members of the public, helped to hold the assailant down on the floor before he got free and continued his assault on the other man.

A second man then intervened to try to get the masked man under control.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene and the attacker, wearing black tracksuit bottoms and a mwas escorted away in a car.

One eye witness told Hull Live the shop was closed after the brawl and drivers were being turned away from entering the car park.

"I heard the woman he was with tell the police that something had kicked off near the tills," they said.

"It kicked off outside and then the manager started shouting at the guy to 'get out'.

"Apparently the fracas arose inside."

The witness claims the fight spilled out onto the footpath when a male member of the public tried to walk past him to get inside.

"The bloke started shouting 'who are you?' He just stood there and the big guy headbutted him," they said.

"He smashed something off his head. Everyone got involved and bustled him to the floor.

"He got up again and he punched someone from The Range."

Three police cars, including one from the dog unit, reportedly attended the scene along with an ambulance.

Daily Star Online has approached Humberside Police for comment.

The violent incident happened during the first weekend of the UK's coronavirus lockdown. Brits have been told to only leave the house to buy essential items like food and medicine, and most shops have closed their doors indefinitely.
