Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have announced the birth of their second child, a daughter, born in the United States.
The Suits star and her Royal husband, Prince Harry, welcomed a baby girl on Friday, June 4, weighing 7lb 11oz, the couple said in a statement.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced on Valentine’s Day that son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor would soon be a big brother.
Sharing a sweet picture of a very pregnant Meghan holding Archie while Harry cuddled her from behind, a spokesman for the couple said they were "overjoyed" to be expecting their second child.
The new arrival's name Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, was a sweet nod to Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth and his late mother, Princess Diana.
The daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has been named Lilibet after the family nickname for the Queen, the baby’s great-grandmother, while her middle name was chosen to honour her beloved late grandmother, the Princess of Wales, the couple said.
The timing of the announcement also gave a nod to his mum who announced she was pregnant on February 13, giving press just 24 hours to print the news.
Meghan and Harry’s joyful news followed the Duchess of Sussex’s revelation that she had a miscarriage in July 2020.
Writing in the New York Times in a piece called The Losses We Share, Meghan said she knew she was losing her second child as she "clutched" her "firstborn."

She wrote: "After changing his diaper, I felt a sharp cramp.
"I dropped to the floor with him in my arms, humming a lullaby to keep us both calm, the cheerful tune a stark contrast to my sense that something was not right.
"I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second.”
"Hours later, I lay in a hospital bed, holding my husband’s hand. I felt the clamminess of his palm and kissed his knuckles, wet from both our tears.
"Staring at the cold white walls, my eyes glazed over. I tried to imagine how we’d heal."
