Melania Trump fumed "give me a f***ing break" about migrant children visit

Melania Trump fumed “Give me a f***ing break” when she was talking about desperate migrant children separated from their parents, it’s been reported.

And the first lady complained about having to decorate the White House for festive season, saying: “Who gives a f*** about Christmas stuff?”

The alleged remarks were revealed in recorded phone call between Mrs Trump and former assistant Stephanie Winston, according to American outlet CNN.

In the bugged conversations, Melania is heard moaning about how she has been “working [her] ass off”.

And talking about the media, she said: “They say I'm complicit. I'm the same like him, I support him. I don't say enough. I don't do enough.

"Where I am, I put…I'm working my ass off.

"Christmas stuff that, you know, who gives a f*** about Christmas and decoration, but I need to do it, right?"

And appearing to refer to her trip to a detention camp near the border with Mexico, she fumed about double standards over coverage about the Trumps and former president Barak Obama.

Melania visited the controversial centre in June 2018 donning a $39 Zara jacket with the slogan “I REALLY DON’T CARE” sprawled on the back.

The First Lady was blasted by critics following the condemnation of Trump’s zero tolerance immigration policy that saw children separated from their parents.

Speaking on the calls in July 2018, Mrs Trump whinged: “Oh, 'what about the children that they were separated?'

  • Commuter racially abused on 2 trains for not wearing a mask despite being exempt

"Give me a f***ing break. Were they were saying anything when Obama did that?

“…I cannot go. I was trying to get the kid reunited with the mom. I didn't have a chance. Needs to go through the process and through the law."

Ms Wolkoff is heard telling Mrs Trump that she is "loved" and her image before the trip had been broadly sympathetic, The Mirror reported.

But Mrs Trump said: "They will not do the story. We put it out. They would not do the story. You would not believe it. They would not do the story.

  • China mocks Donald Trump for coronavirus and insists he's 'paying the price'

"Because they are not, they would not do the story because they are against us because they're liberal media.

"Yeah, if I go to Fox, they will do the story. I don't want to go to Fox."

In a statement, Melania Trump's chief of staff Stephanie Grisham said: "Secretly taping the First Lady and wilfully breaking an NDA to publish a salacious book is a clear attempt at relevance.

"The timing of this continues to be suspect – as does this never-ending exercise in self-pity and narcissism."

In another recording the First lady is heard saying that when kids enter the country illegally “you need to do something”.

She said: “The kids, they say, 'Wow I will have my own bed? I will sleep on the bed? I will have a cabinet for my clothes?'

"It's so sad to hear it but they didn't have that in their own countries, they sleep on the floor."

"They are taken care of nicely there. But you know, yeah, they are not with parents, it's sad.

"But when they come here alone or with coyotes or illegally, you know, you need to do something."

Melania and Donald Trump are currently quarantining after testing positive for Coronavirus.
