Melania Trump stuns as she reveals White House Christmas trees
The First Lady unveiled the new section of the executive residence and attached two pictures showing the before and after of the construction work. She described the conservation of the pavilion, which has been in the works since October 2019, as a “vital” action.
In the controversial tweet, Donald Trump’s wife wrote: “History continues to unfold at the @WhiteHouse & I am pleased to announce the completion of the tennis pavilion.
“Preserving this historic landmark is vital & I want to thank all who helped complete this project.”
But the announcement did not go down well with many on the social media platform, with some questioning Ms Trump’s priorities.
One Twitter user wrote: “A pandemic is raging and you’re remodelling the tennis pavilion. Everyone has their priorities, I guess.”

Attaching a photograph of a set of china, one user said: “Nancy Reagan was criticised for ordering new WH china during budget cuts that left many without jobs and unable to put food on the table. History repeats itself…”
A third person wrote: “Good job. Yes that is so much more important than using money to help needy families during this pandemic.
“I bet you are going to have your name prominently displayed somewhere.
“You really don’t have to do that to be remembered. This country could never forget the Trumps.”
However, some followers appreciated the renovation work and praised the First Lady for her work improving amenities at the White House.
One person said: “Perhaps she didn’t do it for herself but posterity.
“Some people think only in selfish terms and others think always of others as our beautiful @FLOTUS Melania.
“Her gracious thoughtfulness is never-ending.”

Another user added: “Thank you so much, FLOTUS, for continuing to preserve & care for the White House & grounds.
“Many of these things I haven’t even known about, but wouldn’t want them in disrepair or neglected.
“Grateful for your appreciation of our history & your tastefulness in decor & landscape.”
A their person wrote: “I cannot believe that previous Administrations would allow something so historic to become ruins.
“This current Administration is that of reconciliation and restoration. God bless everything they do. Here’s to another 4 years!”
The project was first announced in October 2019 when the First Lady shared the news on her social media by posting a photo of herself with the ceremonial gold shovel in hand.
Ms Trump gave an update in March as the US began to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic, unleashing fierce criticism against the move.
The tennis pavilion is not open to the public and is only reserved for the use of first families, according to the First Lady.
