The Met Office has issued a yellow rain weather warning for parts of the UK, with stormy weather conditions predicted across the country.
Brits have been warned to brace themselves for strong winds and rain forecasted for much of the week.
Flooding is likely, the forecaster said, with severe disruptions to travel times also expected.
The warning is in place across parts of Scotland until midnight on Thursday, these areas include Dumfries, Wigtown, Ayo and parts of Glasgow.
Rain is also expected to batter parts of the west, which will move eastwards throughout the day.
Coastal areas are also at risk of strong winds, but central and easter England is likely to remain dry until the evening.
The poor weather will then move into the southeast on Thursday, which could linger in the south into Friday.
The Met Office said: "Cloud and patchy light rain edging slowly eastwards across Northern Ireland and Scotland.
"Mostly fine and dry elsewhere with broken cloud and some sunny spells. Feeling warm in sunshine after a chilly start."

The yellow rain alert warns of spray and flooding on roads, bus and train services delays and flooding in a few homes and businesses.
Despite the rainy weather, forecasters said temperatures will remain fairly constant – in the mid teens for much of the UK.
The grim weather follows one of the coldest August bank holiday weekends on record.
Brits saw heavy downpours and strong winds, as an Atlantic front arrived off of the coast, bringing thick cloud with it.
