Outrage as guests trash holiday resort and throw furniture in swimming pool

A hotel resort in Newquay, Cornwall has fallen victim to vandalism as staff woke to find the pool trashed by guests.

In a Facebook post, the Atlantic Reach near Newquay shared a photo that showed most of its outdoor furniture – including plastic chairs, sun loungers, and even parasols – in the outdoor pool.

The post read: "Happy Sunday everyone. Some helpful guests completely trashed our outdoor pool and a vast amount of furniture last night. Just what we need.

"If anyone has any information that might help us track the culprits down, please get in touch.

"Service will be a bit slow this morning folks. Apologies."

The post was quick to receive close to 200 comments from people showing support and sending well wishes, CornwallLive reports.

This led to the hotel posting another message, saying: "Wow! We are blown away by your comments. Thank you everyone for saying what we also think.

"No doubt the parents of these delinquents will be the type to complain or leave a bad review if there is insufficient or tatty furniture for them to sit on during their stay.

"Now we face a big clean up, a major safety issue while we assess the full extent of damage, a closed pool, less furniture for wonderful guests to sit on when the sun shines again, more cost that really is a huge kick in the teeth and a lot of additional stress for an already, very hard working team.

"This antisocial behaviour is utterly disgusting."

The Atlantic Reach resort is an award-winning holiday resort boasting holiday accommodation and tent and caravan pitches close to some of the best beaches in Cornwall.

It has its own onsite pub and cafe, kid's club, spa, and leisure club.
