A person shot by police in Aurora on Wednesday evening was taken to a local hospital.
The police shooting happened in the area of East Jamison Avenue and South Parker Road, police said on Twitter at 5:16 p.m.
No officers were injured and details on the condition of “suspect” were unknown, police said.
Aurora Police Chief Vanessa Wilson released the following statement on Twitter:
“I am extremely relieved that my officers were not injured this evening,” Wilson said. “They stopped a dangerous criminal from further victimizing our community.”
