Plane crashes in woods after leaving UK airport as emergency on the scene

    A plane has crashed after leaving a UK airport sparking an emergency response.

    The incident is understood to have happened shortly after taking off from Rochester Airport in Kent, leading to an Air Accidents Investigation Branch investigation.

    Rochester Airport has confirmed the incident to the Daily Star.

    The Daily Star has contacted Kent Police and local ambulance services for comment.

    No flights are currently going in or out of the airport and early reports suggest that no one has been injured in the crash.

    The airport is located between Maidstone and Chatham and sees use from light aircraft.
