In 2020 Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to step down as senior members of the Royal Family, and move to the United States with their son Archie. They have since had another child, Lilibet.

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, Harry revealed that they had been “financially cut off” after stepping down.

Up until then, Prince Harry’s father Charles, the Prince of Wales, covered the majority of expenses associated with their royal duties – including staff and travel.

But now that they are “financially independent”, they no longer receive funding through the Sovereign Grant.

This meant that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been living off his inheritance from Harry’s late mother Diana.

Fast forward to today, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have taken on several business endeavours to start earning an income. In addition, the price of their US house has soared in value.

How much is Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s net worth?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are though to have a collective net worth of around £96million.

Since leaving the Royal Family, the couple have paid back the £2.4million of taxpayer's money used to renovate their royal residence, Frogmore Cottage, and have mostly relied on the £10million fortune left by Princess Diana.

He also previously received inheritance from the Queen Mother, which reportedly included her jewels.

Alongside his inheritance, Harry previously reportedly earned between £36-38,000 a year during his time in the British Army Air Corps.

Forbes previously estimated that Harry's money from the Duchy of Cornwall was estimated to be about $800,000 (£580,000).

However, Harry and Meghan have since stepping down signed a number of lucrative business deals, thought to be worth millions.

This includes a multi-year deal with Netflix for an undisclosed amount, with plans to make documentaries, docu-series, feature films and more.

Harry and Meghan didn't get paid for their Oprah Winfrey interview, but their deal with Netflix has no doubt seen their net worth soar.

They also signed a deal with Spotify to deliver podcasts, thought to be worth £18million.

Meanwhile, Meghan brought her own small fortune of her own into the marriage.

A former Hollywood actress, the Duchess of Sussex reportedly earned more than £36,000 per episode for her role in USA Networks Suits.

She also had acting roles in 90210, CSI: Miami and Horrible Bosses.

According to Forbes, she went into her marriage in 2018 with about £1.5million saved up.

In addition to their wealth, Harry and Meghan also own the home they currently live in.

The couple purchased their home in Santa Barbara, California for a whopping £10.75million. Estate agent now estimate the property is worth almost three times what they paid, according to The Times.
