An RTD bus struck and killed a woman who was walking across eastbound U.S. 36 early Monday morning, said a Westminster police news release.
All eastbound lanes of the highway are closed between Sheridan and Federal boulevards while the investigation is underway, the 7:27 a.m. news release said.
The woman is also believed to have been struck by another vehicle on the highway at about the same time, the release said.
The bus hit the woman at about 2:26 a.m. between Sheridan and Federal boulevards, the news release said. The bus driver pulled over and called 911.
The identity of the victim has not been determined and officers are actively investigating the crash, Westminster police said.
The police department is asking anyone who may have information about this accident to call officers at 303-658-4360.
