Sky presenter slams hypocrites Meghan and Harry after past privacy pleas

A Sky News presenter has slammed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry following the Duchess' recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres.

Sky News Australia host Andrew Bolt implied that the royal couple had been hypocritical, with this being the second major TV interview from the Sussexes this year despite their earlier pleas for privacy.

Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties last year and moved to California, ostensibly away from the royal limelight in the UK.

Their first bombshell interview, with talk show legend Oprah Winfrey, aired eight months ago.

Bolt, 62, questioned how Meghan's latest appearance on The Ellen Show aligned with the couple's previous requests.

He fumed: "But wait, didn't the same Meghan Markle and Prince Harry declare last year they'd adopted a 'revised media approach to ensure diverse and open access to their work' and this 'updated approach aims to engage with grassroots media organisations and young, up-and-coming journalists'?

"When did Ellen DeGeneres last get categorised as a 'young, up-and-coming journalist'?"

Bolt's guest on the show, YouTuber and commentator Daisy Cousens, agreed and highlighted the "cognitive dissonance" in making major public appearances after asking for "privacy".

She also agreed with Bolt regarding the Sussexes' claim that they wanted to work with "up-and-coming journalists".

"Where are they? Ever since then it's been Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah, Time magazine, Netflix, Apple TV," she said.

"For goodness' sake, the closest thing either of them has got to 'up-and-coming, grassroots journalism' was when Prince Harry did a podcast with C-list Hollywood comedian Dax Shepard.

"And all they did was talk about how hard it is being wildly famous in Los Angeles."

The Royal Family would have been pleased that Meghan reined in the bombshell revelations for this second interview.

Among other things, she opened up about an incognito Halloween night out she had with Harry, Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank before Harry and Meghan's relationship was public.

She also shared some adorable new snaps of their son Archie.
