Two juvenile suspects arrested after Jefferson County shooting

A juvenile was shot in the face in Jefferson County and two juvenile suspects have been arrested, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies responded on Sept. 18 to the Swedish Medical Center Southwest ER to investigate a juvenile who’d been shot in the face, according to a news release.

Deputies were told the shooting happened at Clement Park, but an investigation determined that the shooting happened at a residence near West Ken Caryl Avenue and South Simms Street and that the incident was not random.

Two juveniles have been arrested as suspects and are being held at a detention facility. One suspect faces charges of first- and second-degree assault, tampering with evidence and possession of a handgun by a juvenile. The second suspect has been charged with possession of handgun by a juvenile.

The victim is expected to make a full recovery, the sheriff’s office said.
