Vile students attack black child as one yells ‘George Floyd challenge’

A group of students attacked a classmate and shouted racist insults in a so-called “ George Floyd Challenge”.

A disturbing 20-second clip has emerged of the attack, carried out at Parramatta Marist High School in Sydney, Australia.

The footage, shared on Snapchat and WhatsApp and obtained by 7NEWS.com.au, shows students piling on top of the student as he lies helpless on the ground.

The Catholic school student filming shouts “get that motherf*****” while another yells “George Floyd Challenge”.

After the victim asks them to get off, the boy filming says the n-word.

The Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta has referred the incident to police.

It said in a statement: “We are appalled by the conduct of these students and that racist and offensive language was used during this incident.

“As you would expect, the school has informed the police.”

School officials have also made contact with the student’s family.

The statement added: “All students who are known to have been involved in this altercation, other than the student who was assaulted, will remain at home until the process of investigating the matter fully is completed.

“When the school’s investigations into this matter are concluded, we will respond in a way that reflects the very serious nature of the behaviour.”

African-American Mr Floyd died after being arrested by police outside a shop in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the US, on May 25.

A white police officer, Derek Chauvin, kneeled on Mr Floyd's neck while he was pinned to the floor and has since been charged with murder.

Three other cops have been charged with aiding and abetting murder.
