{"id":26766,"date":"2023-11-14T12:19:01","date_gmt":"2023-11-14T12:19:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/belalcazar.org\/?p=26766"},"modified":"2023-11-14T12:19:01","modified_gmt":"2023-11-14T12:19:01","slug":"diane-abbott-embarrassingly-fact-checked-over-post-attacking-suella-braverman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/belalcazar.org\/politics\/diane-abbott-embarrassingly-fact-checked-over-post-attacking-suella-braverman\/","title":{"rendered":"Diane Abbott embarrassingly fact checked over post attacking Suella Braverman"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Suella Braverman sacked as Home Secretary<\/h3>\n<p>Diane Abbott has been fact-checked over a post attacking Suella Braverman on social media platform X.<\/p>\n<p>The Hackney North and Stoke Newington MP, who currently sits as an independent, on Saturday shared a picture of a protester showing his Nazi swastika tattoo while wearing a poppy.<\/p>\n<p>In reference to comments Mrs Braverman made criticising a pro-Palestine protest on Remembrance Day, Ms Abbott said: &#8220;Suella says: &#8216;Decent British people have had enough of these displays of thuggish intimidation and extremism.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Does she mean guys like this one out today?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But the former Shadow Home Secretary has been fact-checked by other users on X, formerly Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>They pointed out that the picture of the demonstrator was taken in 2016, rather than last Saturday when far-right counter-protesters turned out in London along with the pro-Palestine march.<\/p>\n<p>GB News presenter and ex-Brexit Party MEP Martin Daubney shared Ms Abbott&#8217;s post.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8220;Oh dear, Diane Abbott attributes a photo from 2016 to this weekend\u2019s Armistice Day protest.
