Deluded\u00a0Vladimir Putin has sought to tighten his grip on power after a former ally was added to a list of “foreign agents”.<\/p>\n
Ex-Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov served during Vladimir Putin’s first presidential term in 2000-2004.<\/p>\n
However, Mr Kasyanov has been vocal against the Russian leader’s war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n
He left Russia shortly after its full-scale invasion in February 2022 and now lives in exile in Latvia.<\/p>\n
The Russian justice ministry accused Mr Kasyanov of being a member of the Russian Anti-War Committee (AWCR), “an association whose activities are aimed at discrediting Russian foreign and domestic policy”.<\/p>\n
