Expert lifts lid on Welsh Bigfoot tracks after seeing 6ft7 beast make them

A Bigfoot expert has revealed what left a series of mysterious footprints in Wales after spotting the 6ft7in being that was responsible.

Earlier this week a team of Sasquatch researchers claimed hairy beasts might be living in the UK after they found 16in-long footprints and a primitive lair in an area of woodland near Caerphilly.

The team were in the area working on a new TV series. Canadian Bigfoot researcher Jason Kenzie said: "It could possibly be a Sasquatch footprint… based on the size alone, it does look closer to an unknown creature than a typical human."

However, cryptozoologist and author Andy McGrath was bemused when he saw the news. Andy had also been in the area working on an upcoming TV show – Weird Britain. He told the Daily Star: "You can't imagine my surprise when I saw the news… they had used the joke footprint that we made while filming a comedy segment about Brenin Llwyd (the Welsh wildman) on Caerphilly mountain."

Andy explained that the section also includes a "comical take on a bushcrafting shelter being Bigfoot's house", hence the lair, as well as "several large and crudely made footprints". He said the footprints were "an inside joke by our producer, who at 6ft7in tall is our very own Sasquatch!"

Andy added: "I can't imagine how they got leaked out, but they certainly weren't meant to be taken seriously. I definitely believe that Bigfoot exists somewhere out there in the wider world, but these footprints are about as genuine as a £9 note!"

Weird Britain, which is set to be released in the Spring of 2024, will investigate the historical mysteries and folklore of Britain. Andy said: "It's not a comedy show and we do respect the many beliefs and theories we investigate, but we do also have a little gentle fun with the subject, as if to prove the fact that people are willing to believe anything when it comes to Bigfoot. I guess it looks like we accidentally proved our point!"
