Ukraine: Russian armoured vehicle destroyed by drone
Russia has suffered a staggering loss of over 300,000 troops since the outset of its invasion of Ukraine in February last year.
The General Staff of Ukraine’s armed forces disclosed the figure on Tuesday, underlining the substantial toll exacted on the Russian military in the ongoing conflict.
Beyond the immense human cost, Ukraine claims that Russia has also lost more than 5,000 tanks in the battle.
The claim comes as the Ministry of Defence, earlier this week, expressed its belief that Russia is currently facing what could be its most severe losses this year.
The assessment coincides with Russia’s launch of a “major” assault on the eastern town of Avdiivka.
The situation on the ground continues to evolve rapidly, with these latest numbers shedding light on the intensity of the conflict.

President of the United States, Joe Biden, is poised to veto a Republican proposal from the House of Representatives that provides aid to Israel but excludes Ukraine and includes cuts to funds for the Internal Revenue Service if it were to pass in both chambers. The White House has confirmed the news. “Unlike the President’s national security package, this bill does not include any assistance to Ukraine. This is an urgent need,” the White House’s Office of Management and Budget said.
