Denver weather: End of summer brings warm temps, weekend cooldown

The last official week of summer is here, with warm weather continuing for Denver until the fall equinox arrives Saturday.

Warm weather will continue for the Denver area Monday as scattered showers and thunderstorms hit the mountains, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures in the Denver area will reach a high of 84 degrees Monday, before dipping back down into the 50s overnight.

According to NWS forecasters, temperature highs for the city will remain in the low 80s through Thursday before cooling back off into the mid- to high-70s over the sunny, breezy weekend.

The mountain-based storms could make their way into the urban corridor tonight, with a 20% chance of rain, or Tuesday night, with a 30% chance, according to the forecast.
